What slr sony camera lens is the best for both long distance and macro?

I'm just starting out in photography and i've got a sony A55 and its my birthday soon and as a present im getting a new lens for my slr. But i dont know what lens to get. I want a macro one and i would also like a zoom one aswell. I just wondered if there is a lens that does both well? but not at too high a price up to bout 拢300.

Thanks.|||Macro lenses are prime lenses from 60 mm to about 105 mm, certainly NOT a telephoto lens

Telephoto lenses (for shooting long distant subjects require a 300 mm or longer lens)

NONE of these lenses cost less than about 拢500 if you can find one. You will also need an adapter so it can be used on your A55

Telephoto:

As you can see, 拢300 cannot buy much when you look for lenses made for your fine A55

Here is a site that lists Sony lenses, but I don't see any Sony "E" lenses listed

A good inexpensive macro lens is the Sigma 105mm f2.8 which does come in a Sony version.

You won't be able to get a good long telephoto as well, but with the 2x extender/teleconverter, the sigma 105mm can produce useable results. Not the ideal function, but it's a good compromise.|||All lenses focus to infinity. If you are concerned with magnification from far distances, get the longest lens you can afford. That would be the one with the most mm. For macro shots, get a macro lens. To get both in one lens, look for the most mm that has macro ability. Sony doesn't have a huge lens lineup so it shouldn't be a difficult choice for you.|||Here are two lenses, a telephoto lens, and a prime lens 8you can also use the prime for macro).

You won麓t be able to get a 2 in 1 lens (macro/telephoto)::

jessops do a 300mm lenses made by sigma for 200 pounds, but a macro with cost nearly 500 pounds.
