What does the orange or yellow light mean on a Sony camera battery charger?

I have a battery charger for the battery that goes to my Sony Mavica. When I first plugged the battery in it was red. Now it is either orange or yellow (depending on who is looking at it). Should it show up green when charged or does the yellow/orange mean it is charging. Thanks.|||What does your user manual say?

You may have to call Sony and ask them if you cannot find it in your manual

800.222.SONY

Usually an amber light means caution, something is wrong

My Sony video camera shows red when charging and changes to green when the battery is fully charged.

My Nikon battery charges flash red until the battery is fully charged and then go steady state

I also have a JVC video camera and its charger is red while charging and turns off when the battery is charged

All this to say, each company has its own charging status light scheme and there is NO universal system|||Check the link below and go to page 10, it explains how the battery charger works. It might not be the same model Mavica as yours but the chargers all should work the same.

Page 99 explains battery malfunctions.
