How do I program a Sony tv remote to respond to my Philips DVD player?

I have a Sony RM-YD013 universal remote that came with my sony television. I've been trying to program it to work with my Philips DVD player, but I don't see a set-up button. I can't seem to figure it out. I know it should be possible because I found the program code (757) on the sony site. Any ideas?

Thanks!|||I found this in the manual for my Sony LCD flatscreen that has the same remote.

You will see three buttons near the top, "BD/DVD", "DVR/VCR", and "SAT/CABLE". You can program any of these three (or all three if you want) to control your Philips DVD player. If you want to program more than one of these buttons, do one first followed by the next.

1) Decide which one of the above buttons you want to program, probably the "BD/DVD" Function button.

2) Press that Function button together with the "DISPLAY" button - simultaneously. The "DISPLAY" button is at the top-right corner of the round circle of buttons. If you did this correctly, the Function button you chose (in step 1) will start to flash.

3) You then have to press "7" then "5" then "7" (or whatever 3-digit code you want to program) using the numberic buttons on the remote. You have to do this within 10 seconds or else it will cancel the programming and return to the way the remote was before you started. So if you goof-up, don't worry. Wait about 30 seconds (or until that Function button's light turns off) and start again.

4) The Function button you're programming should stay lit. Now press the "ENT" button (it's with the number buttons, to their bottom-right). If you did everything correctly, that Function button will blink 2 times and then turn off. If you made a mistake, the Function button will blink 5 times and then turn off (in this case, you can start again from step 1).

If you get confused, or you do something really strange, you can always reset the remote to it's "new" condition by taking out all batteries from it, and leaving it without batteries for up to an hour. When you put back the batteries, you can start to program any of the Function buttons from step 1 above.

NOTE - it's possible (but rare) that the remote might not control your DVD player, especially if it's a really old or really new model. In most cases, it will still control the basic features but you won't be able to do the more advanced functions of your DVD player.

And yes, the code 757 is for most Philips DVD players.

Good luck - it's easier than it sounds!!
