What format do I have to convert dvd footage saved from sony camera to htm to play on Windows XP?

A local shop saved video footage from my Sony camera onto several DVDs, which I cannot play on my fathers computer (it is his camera and footage!). He is not connected to the internet, but has Windows XP. The DVDs are saved in htm format. Is there anything I can do to change this format to enable my father to view them on his computer?|||As I know, windows media player on XP supports wmv video pretty well.
