How to import video from sony handycam without damage?

I Have a new sony handycam. But i have import videos are damaged. But play well on my handcam lcd. So how to import video clearly?|||Well it depends on which video mode you recorded it. I don't recall it right now but either of the mode , only one of them requires finish to have it copied to your PC.Also if you have a DVD Handycam , then after finish you can directly copy it to your PC via the handycam software , it should automatically detect the videos and ask for copying.|||Usually a firewire 1394 connection gets a nice quality import, as for the women who couldn't get it to work, don't listen she's a blonde :P JK JK JK!!!|||capture via firewire port in Avi format ,i.e. (dv) and that is the real professional way if that file has any problem on PC playback means your PC is slow for transferring the video.|||idk but i do know that sony things stink cuz they never work for me~
