How to turn off red light on Sony camera?

I have the Sony Cybershot, and I can't get the red flash to turn off. I have the regular flash off, and I can't seem to find it under any setting.|||You mean red-eye correction? Check the manual for it.|||...so, the wrong answer is chosen as "Best Answer" and the three correct answers are ignored?

|||Yep, as has been said, you are seeing the "AF Illuminator" it sends out red light to help the camera acheive focus in low-light conditions.


I've just had a look at my own Cybershot W80 and the two menu options are "Auto" and "Off", with the setting at Auto the Illuminator still comes on, even in reasonable indoor light!

http://www.aunsoft.com/video-converter/|||I have two Sony Cybershot cameras. What you are seeing is the Auto-Focus illuminator. To turn it off, go to the set-up menu and look for "camera". In that menu is one for AF Illuminator. That's where you can turn it off. Keep on clickin'|||A red flash? I have never heard of such a thing. I think this "red flash" is just the camera focusing the scene before it allows you to take a picture. It shouldn't be a flash... that would just distort the image colors.
