I have a Sony Cyber-shot, and I have no idea how to change my settings to black and white. I know there must be a way to do it, because in the guide it says you can, but I just can't figure it out!!!
HELP??
Thanks!|||If you can't figure it out, and Im assuming it is a digital camera...don't worry about it... Most picture programs that you will use on the computer can turn them into Sepia, Black and White..adjust the brightness, take out red eye, crop, enlarge etc; You can do this to your pics after you download and store them, or before you store them. I usually wait until after I store them to change to any B/W, cause occassionaly I want to go back and see the full color of a B/W shot.. Good Luck|||Perhaps this is a good thing ... the algorithms that do this in your camera are designed by guys with pocket protectors who may or may not have a good background in photography (shooting, developing and printing in black and white). My feeling is you may want more control over the results.
You can do what the pros do:
Open the colour image in your photo program:
Use the saturation tool on your photo program and set it to -100:
Then use the level tool to set the black threshold, white threshold and mid-tone until you have exactly what YOU want.:
Remember to save the modified file with a new name so you don't overwrite your original image.

I am uploading video's to youtube, and am wondering how i go about using video's (primarily Intro's) i render using sony vegas pro 10, in windows movie maker? when i tried to connect my sony ericsson j230i phone to my computer the phone displayed a error message that saying "Unsupported accessory" . I used a data cable which came for Sony ericsson k530i phone. Should I need a special data cable for j230i?|||nopes mate, you cant connect a 'Sony ericsson j230i' to your computer.. and no such data cable for this device is easily available in market either.. moreover the phone has less than 500kb memory with no card slot, what would you do connecting this phone to a PC anyway!? :)
Is there an alternate way to transfer video from my Sony Handycam to my computer?
The picture package software that came with my Sony DCR HC26 camcorder is not compatable with Windows Vista. I've looked for a patch on the Sony website to no avail. I am frustrated and desperate for another way to edit my video! Any suggestions would be appreciated.|||You don't need Picture Package to capture your video. The DCR HC26 is a MiniDV camcorder so you can use Windows Movie Maker or just about any other video editor. You'll need to capture the video via firewire rather than USB - if your PC hasn't already got one you'll need to install a firewire card. They're cheap, easy to install and readily available. You'll also need a firewire cable.
How to turn off red light on Sony camera?
I have the Sony Cybershot, and I can't get the red flash to turn off. I have the regular flash off, and I can't seem to find it under any setting.|||You mean red-eye correction? Check the manual for it.|||...so, the wrong answer is chosen as "Best Answer" and the three correct answers are ignored?
---nice one!
|||Yep, as has been said, you are seeing the "AF Illuminator" it sends out red light to help the camera acheive focus in low-light conditions.
I've just had a look at my own Cybershot W80 and the two menu options are "Auto" and "Off", with the setting at Auto the Illuminator still comes on, even in reasonable indoor light!
Unless you're constantly taking pictures at night you'd be better turing it to Off and use one of the Low-light modes.|||Aunsoft video converte can help you convert sony camera video to almost all of video formats you need ,and it can do this :
Support importing 1080p, 720p AVCHD camcorder videos
Load M2TS file with TrueHD, DTS-HD as audio codec.
Merge video files into one
Extra audio from video file and save in MP3, WAV, AC3 format.
Output high quality video at super fast speed.
Edit video with trimming, cropping, watermark, filter effect.

In that menu is one for AF Illuminator. That's where you can turn it off. Keep on clickin'|||A red flash? I have never heard of such a thing. I think this "red flash" is just the camera focusing the scene before it allows you to take a picture. It shouldn't be a flash... that would just distort the image colors.
